It is easily connected to the shower or bathroom faucet. The filter inlet and outlet is 1/2 inch. You simply unscrew the spiral of the bathroom "phone" from the side of the faucet and screw it directly into the filter outlet. The top of the filter clips onto the shower faucet. It is fully suitable and safe for hot water use. The replacement filter must be replaced EVERY 6 MONTHS
